House Technical Crew Member (Part Time)
The Count Basie Theatre seeks an experienced, team oriented member for our House Technical Crew to assist in the production of live performances as outlined below. The Count Basie Theatre is currently experiencing tremendous growth through its programs and partnerships and is transforming into a regional Center for the Arts and Education.
Reporting to the Technical Director, a House Technical Crew member provides event support in all facets of live production. The ability to work flexible hours that will include days, nights, weekends, and holidays is necessary. This person must have stage crew, rigging, video, audio, and some lighting experience. The successful candidate will epitomize team work and be able to work collaboratively across a range of departments. This is a permanent part-time, non-exempt position with a guarantee of 25 hours per week minimum. We offer a competitive salary and benefits, commensurate with experience.
• Load and unload road cases, gear and materials from trucks. • Assemble and disassemble parts. • Rigging of flys, drops, lights, motors, etc. • Set up lighting, props, and microphones. • Knowledge of audio consoles, and proper set up/break down of PA system. • Perform spotlight operation during shows.Set up risers and musical equipment. • Assist with video, sound, and light production. • Work with electrician and Lighting Director. • Clean up stage and backstage area before/after performance. • Perform regular maintenance of stage and equipment. • Other duties as assigned by supervisor or senior staff.
• At least 2 years of experience in live entertainment, theatre, musical theatre, etc.
• Knowledge and understanding of technical aspects of live performance
• Ability to lift at least 60lbs, climb ladders, basic knowledge of hemp and sandbag counter weight system
• Stage rigging certification is a plus
•  Ability to read and execute artist riders, stage plots, and lighting plots.
• Superior people, communication, and customer service skills
• Professional and job appropriate appearance
• Ability and willingness to work long days, nights, weekends, holidays, etc.

Teaching Artists (Part Time)
The Count Basie Theatre Education and Outreach Program is currently seeking qualified and versatile Teaching Artists to join an our expanding program and an initiative for the 2015-2016 school year serving Monmouth and Ocean County students. At this time the targeted grades are 4th through 8th.
We are looking for dedicated Teaching Artists specializing in various genres including but not limited to: Dance: Hip-Hop, Cultural Dance Forms, Creative Dance and Movement; Drama: Poetry, Acting, Improv, Voice and Speech, Creative Drama, Readers Theatre, Musical Theatre; • Music: Vocal Instruction, Choir Instruction, Instrumental Instruction, Drumming; • Yoga, Capoeira, Zumba, etc.
• Degree in your art form(s) preferred but not required
• At least 2 years of Teaching Artist experience within a diverse age group and educational settings
• Exceptional knowledge of content in your arts genre
• Strong communication skills
• Classroom management skills
• The ideal candidate is someone who has a passion for arts education and is able to commit to the duration of a program (September – June) while maintaining a consistent schedule.

Usher (Part Time)
The Count Basie Theatre is seeking friendly, professional, and motivated ushers with excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. Ushers must be knowledgeable about the theatre, its policies, and programs. This is a part-time position and the number of hours worked is dependent upon several factors including experience, availability, and scheduling needs.
Qualifications: Excellent communication and customer service skills, friendly and positive manner, and physical ability to stand and seat patrons. Qualified ushers will also be expected to scan tickets, assist with merchandise selling, and help with special events.

Box Office Representative (Part Time)
The Count Basie Theatre is seeking motivated, professional, customer service oriented Box Office Sales Representatives. A Box Office Sales Representative is on the front lines for the Count Basie Theatre. This position is a resource of knowledge for upcoming performances, programs, special events, and an expert in customer service. This is a part-time position and hours will vary based on the theatre’s schedule. Box Office Representatives must be able to work days, evenings, and weekends.
Qualifications: Excellent communication, customer service skills, and computer knowledge, a pleasant phone manner and previous box office or ticketing software experience is a plus. Salary is hourly and based on experience.

Bartenders (Part Time)
The Count Basie Theatre maintains a roster of experienced bartenders to work with the regular bar staff on an as-needed basis. Working hours are typically from 5 or 6PM to about 11PM. Experience in an upscale restaurant or nightclub atmosphere is highly desired. Scheduling is flexible.
