The primary mission of the Count Basie Theatre is to serve the people of the State of New Jersey by providing a broad
spectrum of quality entertainment and education programs that reflect and celebrate the diversity of the region; foster
understanding and appreciation for the ennobling power of the performing arts; and create opportunity for cultural enrichment for
people at all economic levels. It also is our mission to develop and maintain a world-class venue that enhances the enjoyment of these
entertainment and education programs; contributes to the cultural and economic vitality of the community and the region; and honors
the memory of Count Basie.

Count Basie Theatre programming and education outreach is made possible, in part, by the New Jersey State Council on the Arts /
Department of State, a Partner Agency of the National Endowment for the Arts, as well as support received from major donors
and numerous corporations, foundations and individuals.

Q: What are your box office hours?

A: Monday - Friday: 12:00pm-6:00pm
Saturday - 12:00pm-3:00pm;
Sunday: Closed – unless there’s a performance.

The box office remains open until 30 minutes after the beginning of every show. On Sundays, our box office opens three hours prior to showtime, and closes 30 minutes after showtime. On Saturday show days, the box office will remain open until show time.

Q: How do I get tickets?

A: The only approved outlets to acquire tickets to Count Basie Theatre shows are its box office at 99 Monmouth Street in Red Bank, its charge-by-phone number at 732-842-9000 and its official Web site,

Q: How long is the show I’m going to?

A: Show lengths vary greatly by performance. On some nights, an usher may be able to provide you with an accurate answer – but even then, artists can perform longer than originally planned. 
Q: What is your ADA policy?
A: It is our policy to provide reasonable accommodations for qualified individuals with disabilities who are employees, applicants for employment, customers and users of the theatre. We will adhere to all applicable federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and guidelines with respect to providing reasonable accommodations as required to afford equal opportunity to qualified individuals with disabilities. Reasonable accommodations shall be provided in a timely and cost effective manner. The Count Basie Theatre strives to provide all patrons with an enjoyable experience in clean, safe and accommodating surroundings. The Theatre offers accessible seating in all sections of the orchestra level, automatic doors at the main entrance and ADA restroom, and ADA appropriate-height counters at all concessions locations. Large print programs and assisted listening devices are available upon request for most shows. Our website posts the services available to make for a positive experience. We require ample notification in the event seats need to be removed to accommodate patrons. Service animals are welcome and sign language interpreters are available upon request. If you need assistance with any tenets of this policy, please call 732-842-9000 and our trained box office staff will make any accommodations or answer any questions you may have.
Q: I need assistance with ADA seating. How do I go about assuring that I am accommodated?
A: Simply call 732-842-9000 and our trained box office staff will assist you with your order and answer any questions you may have.
Q:  Are there extra fees involved?

A:  All tickets are subject to a nonrefundable, $3 restoration fee. Additional handling charges of $5 for phone orders and $7.50 for online orders also apply. Click Here for information about reduced fees for contributing members.

Q: How are ticket prices determined?

A: Generally, artists determine ticket prices to shows at any venue, including the Count Basie Theatre. Of note, all sales are final.
Q: What can I get to eat or drink at the Basie?

A: The Count Basie Theatre offers several, full service bars to patrons age 21 and older, serving beer, wine and spirits prior to and during each performance. These concessions areas also serve popcorn, candy and bagged chips / snacks. Please note that state-issued identification is required by anyone purchasing or consuming alcoholic beverages.
Q: Can I bring my own food and beverages into the theatre?

A: Unfortunately, the Count Basie Theatre cannot allow outside food or beverage into the theatre. 
Q: I have a young child. Do they need a ticket?

A: All patrons require a ticket to all Count Basie Theatre performances, regardless of age. 
Q:  How can I find out about upcoming Count Basie Theatre performances?

Q: I have a service animal. May they come into the theatre?

A: Service animals are permitted at the Basie.  The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) defines a service animal as any dog, such as a guide dog or signal dog that is individually trained to provide assistance to an individual with a disability.  This includes psychiatric service animals that are individually trained to provide service to individuals with psychiatric or neurological disabilities, such as preventing or interrupting impulsive or destructive behaviors.  Service animals must be harnessed, leashed or tethered at all times, unless special circumstances exist, and will be required to rest in the seating area of the individual with a disability, rather than in the aisle.  A guest whose service animal poses a threat to the safety of other guests and employees, or whose animal is not housebroken, may be asked to escort the animal off the premises.
Q:  I attended a show and lost a personal item. What do I do?

A:  If you lose an item during an event, please contact 732-224-8778 ext 105 or to inquire about your lost item. Found items will be turned in to Reception. The Basie is not responsible for lost items. Any found items will be held for 30 days.

Q:  I ordered tickets, but haven’t yet received my e-ticket email, or they haven’t yet come in the mail. What do I do?

A:  Call 732-842-9000 during regular business hours and we’ll get it cleared up.

Q:  I ordered ticket through an artist’s website, but I haven’t heard anything back. What do I do?

A:  You should reach out to whichever company handled that ticketing via the information provided on the artist website or in your original confirmation email. 
Q:  I bought tickets on StubHub. Are they authentic?

A:  The Count Basie Theatre can only guarantee ticket authenticity on tickets purchased via our phone, online or box office outlets. We discourage patrons from purchasing tickets to our events via third-party “broker” sites as they can sometime be prone to fraud. 

Q:  If it’s raining, snowing or worse, is my show canceled?

A:  Weather-related cancellations are unique. In some cases, shows will be canceled or postponed, and in others, ‘the show must go on,’ as they say. For information on your particular performance, view our EVENTS page or call 732-842-9000.  
Q: Are there any good restaurants or hotels in the area?

A: There sure are, and many of them contribute to the nonprofit Count Basie Theatre! Click here for our recommendations.
Q: Where do I park for Count Basie Theatre shows?

Q: I purchased a Meet & Greet / VIP package for the show. When does the meet & greet take place? When do I get my stuff?

A: This depends on the show. Generally, artists will supply this information to us no later than 24-48 hours prior to show time. Once we have it, we’ll send an email to the address used to order the tickets, outlining all official information and event times. Meet & Greet and VIP packages are determined by the artist – these elements are out of the Count Basie Theatre’s control. 
Q: How many people does the Count Basie Theatre hold?

A: Between its orchestra, loge and balcony sections, the Count Basie Theatre has 1,568 seats. No seat is further than 100 feet from the center of the stage – the Basie prides itself on being an acoustically-perfect and intimate setting for a range of live performance events!
Q: Do you offer group sales?

A: On some shows, the Count Basie Theatre can offer discounts to groups purchasing 12 or more tickets. To inquire, call 732-842-9000.Please note that group sales accommodations cannot be considered until after a show has been put on sale to the general public.
Q: I see that the Count Basie Theatre is a non-profit organization. What does that mean?

A: What that means is that we strive to be a community asset – not just a concert hall or a place to see funny comedians. The Count Basie Theatre’s primary mission is to serve the people of the State of New Jersey by providing a broad spectrum of quality entertainment and education programs that reflect and celebrate the diversity of the region; to foster understanding and appreciation for the ennobling power of the performing arts, and to create opportunity for cultural enrichment for people at all economic levels.
